Sanders Cafe....

So.  One of the things I've always been asked about coming to Kentucky is...

"Have you ever seen the original Kentucky Fried Chicken?"

I replied yes.

Ever wondered what it looked like?  Wonder no more........

This bit on the right is the museum.. "Sanders Cafe"...

The bit on the right? The local KFC.

No I didn't go in, it was raining, it was cold, and we were on a mission to see Jeff's Mom's family!

Carriage Rides!

The company called us back and confirmed that we would indeed have our carriage ride arond Lexington at 8pm on Sunday.

We got into town waaaay early.  So we took a walk around.

 Meet Jefferson Davis, our horse!

We had a lovely ride through the historical section of town.  And it was a Sunday night, so there wasn't much traffic around.  Jefferson was a lovely horse, every time he stopped at a stoplight, he would turn around and look at us as if to say "hey, how're you doin?"  He apparently had a cold, and this was his first night back at work. we were snugged up under a woolen blankie the whole trip.  Well worth the trip out in the cold.. :)

Clear Skies and Dry Roads..

So after my last post, Jeff assured me that we would be okay driving the back way through to his brother's place.  He went out, warmed the car, tested driving around the carpark and we set off.  We spent a lovely day with his brother and family, and after doing a spot of shopping, we curled up in bed at the hotel for an early night.

The next morning, after the sun came up, I peeked outside.  Yes there was snow still about, but look! The car isn't covered in snow! The roads are dry!

So at lunch time, we set off home.  I almost missed getting a photo of Cinci... and it's not a great one, through the smeary windscreen... But there it is.
This gives you an idea of how much happier I was coming home on Saturday instead of Friday.  Clear skies, dry roads and less traffic... phew!
We stopped in at Florence Mall, and I frightened little old ladies in the mall (obviously my blue hair is a communicable disease!), we had some lunch, and head off home.

That folks, was my anniversary.. :)... we tried to book the carriage ride for that night, but they were booked out.  So I penciled one in for Sunday night, only they couldn't tell me for sure whether it would go ahead until the next day..
