Christmas Day and Boxing Day

Christmas Day for us was low key, we had already done the Christmas gift exchange thing while we were in Cincinnatti.

I was unwell, so I spent the day in bed, while Jeff, his Dad and his Mum packed the truck and trailer for Jeff and I to leave the next day for their new house in Florida.

We went out for lunch to a chinese buffett - pretty much the only thing open!  That night I packed all our stuff and went back to bed.

The next morning we set off to Florida for what should be a 12 hour drive. Everything was going swimmingly, until we got to 3 hours before our final destination.  The axel on the trailer gave out.  After a couple of hours on the side of the I-75 again (hrm - sounds familiar right?  Same Interstate as last trip when we were attempting to get to Detroit and slid off on the snow).

We ended up stopping in a hotel 5 miles from the Florida border for a couple of days, Jeff took the rest of the stuff down to his parents house, picked up a trailer, came back and we loaded the trailer with the motorcycle still on it onto the hired trailer.  One day I slept, trying to get over my flu, the other day, I had a look through the 2 fabric stores and the massive antique store.  The next morning we made our way down, and made it there in one piece, thankfully.  Not much else to tell you about that.

I will however, show you pictures of Jeff's parents place, and the lake locally..

 Cardinal!
Random pretty bird in the tree
This is the view from the front window - the tree has Spanish Moss on it, which is neither Spanish, OR Moss.  The little lake is also here.
 Front of the new house.
The lake about a mile from their house - yes Dad, you can sail on it, and it has a boat ramp. BIG lake.
